It's interesting to look back at your life and realize something about all of the bad days that you've ever experienced:
You've survived every bad day you've ever had.
When you think about it, that's pretty amazing, right? Because, at the time, you weren't sure if you could get out of the quagmire you felt stuck in. But you did. And you will again.
Just because you're having a bad day,
It doesnât mean you have a bad life.
Dealing with What's Inside Your Mind
Sometimes, finding the answer to the problem of how to turn a bad day into one you can cope with, can be as simple as looking at what's inside your mind - and looking at the problems you're facing in a different way - literally.
Try this:
If the problem at the root of your bad day is causing you to feel like crap, then remember that the feeling is simply a thought travelling through your body. One way to gain perspective on what's happening in your life is to move the thought out of your mind, as you'll find the corresponding crappy feeling will follow suit.
So, examine the thought in your mind.
Is it a picture or a movie?
Once you've found it and discovered if it's a still image or short video, shrink it down to the size of a postage stamp (remember those?)
If it's in colour, drain out the colour and make it black and white.
If it's a movie then freeze frame it into a still image.
Now make the image foggy grey and merge it all together.
Next, push it out of your mind and way over to the other side of the country you reside in.
Send it way out over yonder until it's barely an atom in size.
Leave it there.
Practice this every time an unwanted thought intrudes on your day. It enables you to have a bit more mental bandwidth to deal with stuff, dials down the intrusive thought patterns and calms unhelpful emotions.
All of which can mean you're more likely to get a good night's sleep and feel better the next day!

What is your Plan B now that youâve decided to draw a line in the sand and accept that your desire for a child isnât going to happen?
If youâre a Childless-Not-By-Choice woman itâs likely that youâve felt pressure to have a child to feel âcomplete.â As if youâre a jigsaw puzzle with a missing piece. And without it, youâll never have peace.
Yet the truth is that youâre not lacking. Itâs simply the critical voice in your head that makes you think you are. In essence, the critical voice is made up of all the ideas, beliefs and societal values that youâve absorbed throughout your life. The only problem is that youâve decided theyâre yours.
If the beliefs you hold are ones that make you feel positive about living a childless life, then thatâs great. But the fact youâre reading this indicates that perhaps you view that your childless situation means your life is lacking. Itâs understandable if you view your situation negatively, given how being a mother is viewed as a womanâs true raison d'etre by a large number of people. But youâre not lacking. You never have been. But to give meaning to life, you may now be left feeling as though you need to find a purpose in life.
In other words, you feel you need a Plan B.

How to deal with insensitive comments is something that most childless-not-by choice women have to learn. Perhaps, like me, youâve been on the receiving end of hurtful words that shock you or cause you to feel completely pissed off.
Itâs true that some comments are well intended, but even so, they can leave you reeling. But sometimes the words used are intentionally hurtful. Spiteful even. Most times, they try to minimise how infertility or childlessness affects you.
Even worse is the sense of entitlement others feel they have to tell you how lucky you are that you canât have kids, donât get your sleep disturbed, can do what you like, and imply that you should get over it. Believe me, Iâve heard some corkers in my time. My jaw has dropped at the tactless and unsympathetic things people have said.
I do understand the pain and frustration caused, the impact on your sense of self, the need to withdraw and cocoon yourself, and sometimes the desire to lash out.
So, how to deal with insensitive comments? The first port of call is to deal with the emotional sting you feel, and for that I recommend Meridian Tapping.
There are various forms of Meridian Tapping, such as EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), TFT (Thought Field Therapy) and different derivatives. All of these techniques involve tapping on meridian (acupuncture) energy points, while âtuning intoâ the problem, thought, or feeling that causes you to feel upset.

Confidence is something that builds up over time. These quick tips will help you to build-up your self-confidence.
Many people are beating themselves up for not making huge achievements during the lockdown period. After all, they say, weâve got the chuffing time.
Maybe so, but then weâre al in the middle of a pandemic. And that means our brains are on high alert. Difficult to concentrate on stuff when your brain is only concerned with keeping you alive.
It does that by ramping up the feeling of anxiety and fear, constantly scanning the environment for potential threats, and generally making your mind become a grasshopper, bouncing from one worry to another.
Not really conducive to achieving massive goals, eh?
But if thereâs something you do want to achieve itâs still possible. You just need to take tiny steps towards it. And as you do so, plan to give each small step your full concentration for a short burst of time.
Not only will this move you towards what you want, it will train your mind to focus fully on one thing at a time. This will help you to gain a sense of control and ease down the anxiety.
Doesnât have to be a massive goal or plan of action, just simply anything youâve been promising yourself youâll do.
Start with one tiny step for five minutes. Then reward yourself with something, even if itâs a cup of coffee or a tasty sandwich, a dab of perfume behind the ears, or listening to your favourite music.
Your mind will associate moving towards your goal with a reward, which will reinforce the motivation you desire to get the job done.
